Sedgwick County approves AirTran subsidy
The Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday unanimously approved its portion of the Kansas Affordable Airfares Program, which subsidizes low-fare carrier AirTran Airways’ operation in Wichita.
The county approved its annual investment of $1 million for the program.
AirTran also benefits from roughly $1 million from the city and $5 million from the state.
