Art and artifacts

Almost anywhere on campus, students are within a few steps of a sculpture or museum just waiting to be explored.

Thanks to the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection — with more than 70 priceless works dotting the campus — students may find themselves gazing into a bronze face, pondering steel contours, or sitting on green grass in the cool shadow of a giant masterpiece.

WSU is also home to the Ulrich Museum of Art. It's a haven for inspiration, containing more than 6,000 modern and contemporary pieces. There's always something new to see at the Ulrich.

The student-operated Lowell Holmes Anthropology Museum presents a wide range of ancient artifacts and cultural displays — including the Asmat collection—one of the rarest collections of art from the Asmat tribe of New Guinea found anywhere, and the second largest in the country.

Giving students a chance to showcase their talent, the Rhatigan Student Center's gallery constantly displays a wide variety of art created by fellow Shockers.
