Eight Shockers advance to NCAA Championships

Wichita State track & field student-athletes Todd McKown, Lawson Montgomery and Aliphine Tuliamuk advanced to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships with their performances Saturday in the NCAA West Preliminary Round at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Saturday's qualifiers grew the Shockers' NCAA Championships squad to eight individuals in nine events. Tanya Friesen (heptathlon), Brett Trudo (javelin), Tomas Cotter (3,000-meter steeplechase), J'Lynn Ledesma (high jump) and Natalie Morerod (400-meter hurdles) will also compete in Des Moines after qualifying earlier in the weekend.
