Samuel Ramey to appear with WSU Symphony Orchestra

Wichita State University's Symphony Orchestra will host "An Evening with Samuel Ramey," featuring the international opera star and WSU alumnus, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center.
Proceeds from this special event will go toward the Wichita State Orchestra Touring Fund. General admission is $7 (discounts available), and free for WSU students at the box office with ID.
The performance will feature four arias from Ramey's most famous role: Mephistopheles in Goethe's "Faust." The critically acclaimed bass will sing selections from Boito's "Mefistofele," Berlioz' "The Damnation of Faust," Gounod's "Faust" and Stravinsky's "The Rake's Progress."
The orchestra will also perform Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals" with Ramey serving as narrator.
Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Box Office from noon-5 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of Duerksen Fine Arts Center at Wichita State. The box office will be also be open one hour before the performance.
