Eighteen Kansas organizations have been awarded grant funding through the Compassion Kansas initiative, a project of the Wichita State University Center for Community Support & Research.
Chosen from 133 applicants from 32 counties, the following awardees will receive assistance from Compassion Kansas fifth round of funding:
Funded by the federal Compassion Capital Fund, Compassion Kansas provides capacity building support for qualifying faith-based and community organizations throughout Kansas.
Compassion Kansas awards include grant funding and technical assistance opportunities on various organizational capacities, including strategic planning, facilitation, leadership skills, collaboration, service expansion, communication, evaluation research and efficiency improvement.
"Compassion Kansas builds on CCSR's 20- plus years of working with Kansas communities, nonprofits and coalitions," said Scott Wituk, CCSR research coordinator who oversees the Compassion Kansas initiative. "We are excited to be working with another great group of organizations who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Kansans. Capacity building provided through Compassion Kansas will help these organizations reach their goals more effectively and efficiently."
CCSR partners with communities and organizations to strengthen Kansas through education, leadership development, facilitation and research.
As an organization dedicated to creating and sustaining positive change, CCSR works directly with community coalitions, nonprofit health and human services organizations, and self-help groups.
