Sept. 25, 2024 – Wichita State University invites the community to join in its Shocktoberfest celebrations in a week full of tradition and Shocker spirit. Shocktoberfest, which runs Sept. 30 through Oct. 5, is the university’s biggest annual event and will include a brew garden, an entrepreneur’s market, parade and athletic events.

Aug. 14, 2024 - Ryan Barnes appears on a path to be the next PBA Tour great and heir to a family bowling legacy the tour last experienced with Dick and Pete Weber. “(Ryan) has all the makings of a superstar,” PBA Tour Commissioner Tom Clark said. “He’s clearly obsessed with being the best he can be. That something that’s rare in athletes. He’s got it.”
Aug. 9, 2024 — The Shocker Comeback Program is designed for all returning students, whether they’ve taken a year break or been away from the classroom for over 10 years. Shocker Comeback students will have the support of WSU’s Office of Online and Adult Learning to make sure they persist and receive their diplomas.
Aug. 7, 2024 — Wichita State University has established the Aetna Better Health Endowed Workforce Badge Program Fund, thanks to a generous gift from Aetna Better Health.
The difficulties of the past year are behind former Wichita State University sprinter Paula Garcia. She can enjoy her spot on Spain’s 2024 Olympic team. Garcia, who ran for the Shockers from 2017-2022, is a member of the 400-meter relay team.
