Rudd Scholars

The seventh cohort of Rudd Scholars includes 15 Kansas high schools who have chosen to attend Wichita State University. Each Rudd Scholar will receive a full-ride scholarship, which includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and considerable networking and coaching support along the way.

March 6, 2024 Ava Wilkie, senior at Wichita East High School, is the winner of the 2024 Lenora N. McGregor Endowed Scholarship at Wichita State University.

2024 Jabara Scholars, Annika Lindeman and Abby Rexford

Feb. 27, 2024 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has named its two recipients of the 2024 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year’s winners are Annika Lindeman from Eisenhower High School in Goddard, Kansas, and Abby Rexford from West Jessamine High School in Wilmore, Kentucky. They will each receive more than $32,700 spread over four years to attend WSU and major in entrepreneurship.

Feb. 15, 2024 — Ten high school students from Kansas, Missouri and Texas have been awarded the Koch Scholarship at Wichita State University, starting in the fall 2024 semester. Each scholar each will be awarded $30,000 to attend WSU over four years.

Feb. 14, 2024 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University awarded Faith Swart, a Maize High School senior, the 2024 Clay Barton Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Runners at the 2023 5K

Feb. 13, 2024 — The College of Engineering at Wichita State University is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. The 5k will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 on the WSU campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

2024 Gore Scholars

Feb. 1, 2024 — Wichita State University has selected the 2024 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend Wichita State University starting in August 2024.

2024 DSI finalists

Jan. 22, 2024 — Wichita State University has selected the top 13 finalists in the 2024 Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI).

Mariann Kurosu

Dec. 11, 2023 Mariann Kurosu worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Real Estate while working towards her master’s in economics and quantitative analysis, which she will graduate with this December. She encourages her classmates to embrace the opportunity to learn and build their critical thinking skills and network by getting to know their peers.

Maame Adwoa Ankrah

Dec. 11, 2023 Maame Adwoa Ankrah was interested in going to Wichita State for its affordability and for the atmosphere of the city of Wichita. While it was first a challenge to adjust to a new culture, she was able to succeed with the support of her peers and mentors and will graduate with her master’s degree in Spanish with no regrets.

Dec. 8, 2023 - Courtney Lockhart enjoys escaping to nearby Lake Afton Park to fish and relax. He works for the Student Outreach and Support/CARE Team in Student Affairs at Wichita State University.

Amanda Morales

Dec. 08, 2023 Amanda Morales found it difficult to balance her studies while being a mother and wife and working full-time, but through the support of those around her, she was able to persist and will now graduate this fall with her bachelor’s degree in education.

Brittany Wojciechowski

Dec. 05, 2023 Brittany Wojciechowski is currently working for Jacobs Space Exploration Group doing contract work for the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. She was also a featured guest in the May 2023 episode of President Rick Muma’s “Forward Together” podcast. While at WSU, Brittany conducted numerous research projects, including as part of the AeroFeathers team. She will receive her Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering this fall as a first-gen student.
