April 3, 2024 - A mural titled “Adelante Juntos – Forward Together,” will cover Wichita State's Duerksen Fine Arts Center Amphitheater soon.

Feb. 15, 2024 - Lexi Jensen enjoys the amenities available in Wichita and the campus environment and academic offerings at Wichita State University. In her first months on campus, she dove into activities such as rowing and the Immersive Leadership Institute.

Feb. 6, 2024 - A grant from the National Endowment for the Arts will help the Ulrich Museum of Art celebrate the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection as part of the Museum’s 50th Anniversary special programming.

Dec. 12, 2023 — Ashlynn Farney took time off college during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she returned to Wichita, changed her major to filmmaking and started attending Wichita State. She will graduate with her Bachelor of Applied Arts with a concentration in filmmaking in December.

Dec. 11, 2023 - Nicolas Olmedo studied in the W. Frank Barton School of Business and will start work at Textron Aviation in January in the sales development program.

Dec. 11, 2023 — More than 1,400 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University’s 126th fall commencement ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 in Charles Koch Arena.

Nov. 10, 2023 - Keydy Sebastian-Perez loves the community and spirit of Shocker rowing, part of her first-generation experience at Wichita State University. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students.

Oct. 17, 2023 - WSU seniors Emily Redfield and Cat Kee attended the National Stage Combat Workshop in Ruston, La. The three-week course offered instruction, testing and certification with weapons such as swords, shields, firearms, rapiers, daggers and quarterstaffs.

May 21, 2023 — Wichita State graduate student Billy Berue will enlist in the President’s Own United States Marine Band beginning in June. The prestigious band was established in 1798 and is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.

May 19, 2023 — Marie Bukowski has been named the next dean of Wichita State University’s College of Fine Arts, effective July 9, 2023.

May 18, 2023 - Dean Rodney Miller will retire in June following 19 years leading the College of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. During his tenure, the School of Digital Arts was created and enrollment in the college has grown to over 1,000 students.

May 9, 2023 — Shocker graduate Alissa Haddock has spent her whole life battling liver disease. Now she has a Wichita State diploma and a new liver to help her start the next phase of her life.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. He served as Student Body President and came to appreciate the caring atmosphere at Wichita State. John is one of more than 1,500 students eligible for spring 2023 graduation.
