Dear Faculty,

As you all know the current university plan regarding COVID-19  University COVID-19 Announcement Here is additional information and link below to assist in the transition to an all online modality.  Feel free and reach out to your department chairs for any additional questions.

Teaching:

  • Reach out to your students early next to week to explain to them how they will continue in your course. You may choose to manage your course completely through Blackboard, for example, or may set up virtual independent reading or study plans for your students. How you approach this depends on the needs for your course.
  •  Instructional Design and Accessibility and ITS will be available to help you navigate through this transition. They won’t be able to address every question that may come up. We need to work together to problem solve and create the best possible learning environment for students.
  • I know that some faculty already have asked students what access they have to technology. I encourage you all to do this as well. Here is an example of a survey to send to student created by Chelsea Redger-Marquardt.  If you have a Google drive, you can access her survey and edit it.

Thank you for all you do and all the work you will be doing the rest of the semester!
