Prof. Sindhu Preetham Burugupally is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Wichita State University. He received his PhD from Washington State University in 2014, and his BS from the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad in 2009, both in Mechanical Engineering. Between his PhD and current position, he performed a cumulative of two years of postdoctoral appointment in the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University and the University of Notre Dame, and worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas. He investigates the fundamental physics of micro and mesoscale systems in which the design and fabrication are challenged because of their length-scales. He has made several research contributions to the field of thermal and electrostatic actuators, served as the technical program committee chair for the PowerMEMS2019 conference, and is currently leading a research project funded by KS NSF EPSCoR.
