Another Successful Human Factors Exploration Day

The Human Factors & Ergonomics (HFES) student chapter hosted their annual “Human Factors Day” on Friday, November 10 the at the RSC. Students show-cased their research and demoed the technology the program has to offer for attendees to learn more about what Human Factors is all about. Demos included: AR/VR technology on the Microsoft HoloLens and Oculus Rift, new input schemes for alternative input devices, police body cameras and firearm functioning tests, hazard perception on a driving simulator, in-vehicle system design of emergency vehicles, 3D visualization of useful field-of- view (UFOV), medical device design, human machine teaming with drones, stages of design prototyping, and bone conduction headphones. Graduate students further along in the Human Factors doctoral program hosted a “Careers” table where students could discover new job paths and careers in various industry domains.
