Transfer Gateway Tool

We want to give you credit for the work you've done at your previous institution. Our new Transfer Gateway tool will let you estimate how many of those credits will transfer to your desired degree program at Wichita State.

Prepare yourself to use Transfer Gateway by having a copy of your unofficial transcripts on hand. You will also have the option to save information you enter by creating a Log In.

Simplify your transfer process

Our online enrollment specialist are ready to help you make a smooth transition to Wichita State University.  You will find below the four steps you must make prior to being able to enroll in courses. If you have any questions about transcripts or admissions, please contact us.

4 Steps to Enrollment

1. Get Admitted
Apply online at wichita.edu/apply. We'll need your completed application, a $40 non-refundable application fee and transcripts from all other colleges and universities you've attended. If you have any questions regarding admissions requirements or your admissions status, please call the Office of Admissions at 316-978-3085. Once you've been admitted you'll have a Shocker ID number that will allow you to complete some of the other steps below.

2. Apply for Financial Aid
You will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal aid such as grants, scholarships, work-study and loans. Priority deadline for the FAFSA is December 1. But you should submit the FAFSA whether or not you think you qualify for gift aid. Be sure to enter WSU's school code (001950). Questions can be directed to the Office of Financial Aid at 316-978-3430 or finaid@wichita.edu.

3. Schedule a Shocker Connections Appointment with your academic advisor
Once you have been admitted to Wichita State, your academic advisor will contact you to set up a Shocker Connections Appointment. Your appointment will be a time you and your advisor will discuss your plan of study, go over orientation material, course work, SmarterMeasure, and any additional information that you may need to get started.

4. Submit Final Transcripts
After you complete all your classes at your previous institution, send your final official transcripts to Wichita State University Office of Admissions, 1845 Fairmount, Wichita, KS 67260-0124. Students also have the option to email their official transcripts at admissions@wichita.edu as long as an electronic service such as Parchment or National Clearinghouse is used to deliver the transcripts.
