Program Curriculum

The WSU Online Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security (HLS) provides students with a foundation in security, with specialized learning in emergency management, terrorism studies, and cybersecurity.

BS in Homeland Security Curriculum

The online BS in Homeland Security degree combines WSU's General Education requirements with a solid core of homeland security courses. This four-year program can be completed fully online and transfer credits are accepted from regionally accredited community colleges and universities.

General Education

  • 12 hours Foundation Skills Courses:
    • ENGL 101 – College English I
    • ENGL 102 – College English II
    • COMM 111 – Public Speaking
    • MATH 111 – College Algebra
  • 12 hours Fine Arts & Humanities Courses General Education Courses
  • 12 hours Social & Behavioral Sciences General Education Courses
  • 10 hours Natural Science General Education Courses
  • The remaining hours would be open electives, including up to 11 additional hours of HLS elective coursework.
