Information About Grants

Grants are a form of gift aid that are typically not repaid unless you are awarded funds incorrectly or you withdraw from school prior to the end of the term. Grants are generally awarded to students with financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

The following grants are available to eligible students attending Wichita State University:

Federal Pell Grant
Federal grant for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.

Kansas Comprehensive Grant
State grant for undergraduate Kansas residents with exceptional financial need.

Sedgwick County Access Grant
Institutional grant for eligible undergraduate Sedgwick County residents with exceptional financial need.

Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
Federal grant for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.

TEACH Grant
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) grant program is a federal grant for qualified students pursuing specific teacher education certification.
