Financial Aid Eligibility
To be eligible to receive federal financial aid, a student must be a citizen or national of the United States and provide evidence from the USCIS office that they are either: a permanent resident of the United States or in the U.S. with the intention of becoming a citizen or permanent resident.
U.S. Citizenship Documentation
If you are asked to provide proof of citizenship by our office, you may turn in a copy of any of the following:
- Birth Certificate
- U.S. Passport
- Born Abroad Birth Certificate
- Certificate of Citizenship (N-560 or N-561)
- Certificate of Naturalization
To avoid further questions concerning your status as a U.S. citizen, you should contact the Social Security Administration at 8533 E 32nd St. N. in Wichita or call them at 316-636-5884 or 1-800-772-1213.
If you are asked to provide proof of permanent residency by our office, you may turn in a copy of any of the following:
- Permanent Resident/Resident Alien Card (form I-551), I-151
- Arrival/ Departure Record I-94
We will then send a copy of this paperwork to the USCIS office for confirmation of your eligibility for federal financial aid. This process can take up to 15 business days.
