I graduated from Wichita State with a degree in Journalism and an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations. Today, that degree would be equivalent to an Integrated Marketing Communication degree. I even had the opportunity to compete in a national advertising campaign for Chevrolet while I was still a student! Throughout my college experience, I was involved in a number of student organizations including: Delta Gamma Sorority, Student Activities Council, Student Alumni Association, Senior Honor Women, Icthus, Honors Program, Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa and worked on campus at the Alumni Association helping with University events and programs. My favorite thing about WSU is that it has a small campus feel but has all of the resources of a large research institution. I remember my high school counselor telling me that I needed to choose the college that was the right fit for me and not necessarily rely upon where all of my friends were attending. I wanted a large college but not one that was overwhelming. I wanted to be able to get to know my professors and really connect with a campus community. I loved the real-world experience I was able to get living in a city but yet taking part in traditional campus experiences at the same time.
