Why I chose WSU
The academic and extracurricular activities opportunities that Wichita State provides. It was important for me, being an out-of state-student, to feel at home wherever I went to college. Wichita State is the perfect place for that and has allowed me to flourish in ways I wasn't expecting. I have made more friends than I can count, learned so much and have greatly grown overall in my first year at WSU.

Favorite thing
I love how diverse WSU is! Everywhere I look, there are different cultures, lifestyles and beliefs. I have really enjoyed making friendships with people I would not normally cross paths with.

Favorite place
The GroundHouse, a coffee shop connected to Shocker Hall. I can stay there until 2 a.m. studying, grab a quick cup of coffee in the morning or see my friends.

Advice
Make sure you enjoy your first year! You may feel pressure to only focus on your studies. Balance your life, go out to get donuts with friends, study late into the night, watch a movie and drink coffee. Try your best; that is all anyone can ask of you.

Favorite class
Disorders of Human Communication. It has been amazing as a freshman to jump right into my degree courses. It is so exciting to already see progress toward getting my degree!
