Communication Sciences and Disorders Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 1934, the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Wichita State University is proud to be one of the oldest and most distinguished of such programs in the nation. The department serves to provide an academic and clinical education for students whose primary goal is to assist children and adults who have impairments of communication. The department encompasses two areas of focus including speech-language pathology and audiology. Ultimately, the department helps patients regain lost language and speech ability, individuals who stutter to increase fluency and children and adolescents with language impairments. They also provide counseling for friends and family of those with speech and language disorders.

In 1994, the Communication Sciences and Disorders Endowed Scholarship Fund was created through the department. Since then, the scholarship has served as an excellent means of encouragement for students dedicated to improving the life of those with communication disorders.
