Constance Louise Routh Decker Kansas Society Daughters of the American Revolution Endowed Scholarship
Constance L. Decker received a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature from the University of Wichita in 1952. An important part of her life was her involvement with the Kansas Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The organization, founded in 1891, is devoted to "historical preservation, promotion of education and encouragement of patriotic endeavor." When Mrs. Decker passed away in March 1986, her husband, Wallace, friends and many members of DAR contributed to a memorial scholarship in her honor. Mr. Decker also graduated from WU, earning his Bachelor of Arts in botany and bacteriology in 1952 and a Masters in Business Administration in 1969. This scholarship, established in 1990, is awarded to Kansas native juniors needing financial support.
