Dr. Betty M. Drees and Mr. William E. Drees Scholarship in Biosciences
Dr. Betty M. Drees grew up in Wellington, Kan., and graduated from Wichita State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and it was there that she completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism. She became dean of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2001 and practices endocrinology in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. William E. Drees grew up in Wichita and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kansas. He worked as a mechanical engineer in Tulsa and Wichita prior to moving to the Kansas City area to continue his engineering practice, specializing in energy and pipeline projects.
Both Dr. and Mr. Drees' education benefited from scholarship support. They established the Dr. Betty M. Drees and Mr. William E. Drees Scholarship in Bioscience to further the education aspirations of other students.
