Dr. Betty M. Drees and Mr. William E. Drees Scholarship in Biosciences

Dr. Drees grew up in Wellington, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita State University in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in biology. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Drees became dean of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2001 and also practiced endocrinology in Kansas City.

Mr. Drees grew up in Wichita and worked as a mechanical engineer in Wichita and Kansas City, specializing in energy and pipeline projects. He and Dr. Drees both benefited from receiving scholarship support while in college. They established this fund to support the educational aspirations of WSU students studying biological sciences.
