Histories of the men and women behind WSU's endowed funds

Overstreet Endowed Scholarship

“No thanks,” replied Stev Overstreet when offered a scholarship during his final undergraduate semester at Wichita State University. Mr. Overstreet, a previous scholarship recipient working on obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration, decided that another student would benefit more from the funds. Stev Overstreet graduated in 1968, and completed his Master of Science degree immediately following. After which, he went to work for Boeing Wichita. Nearly 30 years later, he still is working for Boeing, now Spirit AeroSystems, as facilities and real estate manager.

Stev Overstreet's benevolent nature has resulted in numerous contributions to WSU. However, his involvement with the university spans far beyond the scope of purely giving financially to include providing his time and talents as well.

Mr. Overstreet's kindhearted disposition has allotted WSU the resources to assist many students in pursuing their academic aspirations. In response to his contributions, Mr. Overstreet commented, “I felt WSU gave me the knowledge base and the ability to earn that incomeÖI owe to the university.”
