Vivian "Jean" Domann Women's Golf Scholarship
Vivian "Jean" Domann spent many years enjoying the game of golf. What began as a weekly outing and respite from her five children, continued no matter the city in which she and her husband, Don, lived. In time, golf became a significant part of her social and service life.
Mrs. Domann served in numerous roles as a member of the El Dorado American Legion Ladies Golf Association from 1968-2009 and the Prairie Trails Ladies Golf Association until 2010. She was an active member of the Kansas Women's Golf Association (KWGA) and served on the statewide KWGA course rating team for many years. No matter her role, Mrs. Domann devoted her entire self. She loved to play in tournaments, mostly for the camaraderie with friends and the enjoyment of the tournament themes.
Education also was an important part of Mrs. Domann's life, as Mr. Domann was a school administrator in K-12 for a large part of his career before they owned and operated Don's Sports Store in El Dorado, Kan.
Mrs. Domann passed away in 2010 and in her memory, the Vivian “Jean” Domann Women's Golf Scholarship, awarded to members of the WSU women's golf team, combines Mrs. Domann's passion for golf, value for education and desire to make a difference in the lives of aspiring women golfers. This scholarship is the perfect way to pay tribute to Jean Domann, allowing her memory to be perpetually carried forward through her student-athlete recipients.
