North Wall Case
International Flavors
As Pizza Hut restaurants popped up across America, it was only a matter of time before the nation’s largest pizza chain went international. Pizza Huts began popping up in Germany, Mexico, and Australia in the early 1970s. Pizza Hut’s international expansion continued under PepsiCo’s ownership. For franchisees building Huts in international locations, the trick was to balance the recognizable appeal of an international brand with menu offerings that were responsive to local tastes and traditions. A Pizza Hut in South Korea offers a sweet potato-filled crust. A Hut in India might have only vegetarian options on its menu. While the offerings change, the core promise of delicious pizza connects all restaurants under the Pizza Hut brand.
Yum! Brands spun off its holdings in China into a separate publicly traded entity, and is poised to open even more Pizza Hut locations across the globe.
