Course Description
This class was developed with the intent of becoming the premier class for Aircraft Electrical and Electronic System Lightning Protection certification. It is a comprehensive workshop that discusses all aspects of related certification, design, and testing from an engineering/DER perspective.

Topics include why Aircraft Electrical and Electronic System Lightning Protection has become important, why these certification efforts are required by the FAA, and how to design and plan to meet these requirements. The class covers FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, ARPs and DO-160, and explain how they apply to Aircraft Electrical and Electronic System Lightning Protection certification. Areas included are attachment zones, equipment and functional critically (safety assessment), aircraft level test methods and interpretation, bench level equipment test methods and levels, and many more.

The class also includes several exercises to apply the learned material to actual situations. A lab tour and lab demonstrations are included.
