How to vote
Voting will begin at 8 AM Wednesday, April 30 and will conclude at noon on Friday, May 2. All votes will be collected online via your myWSU portal. Login to myWSU and click the Faculty/Staff tab if your portal does not automatically default to it. From there look under "tools" and click on "Classified Staff/USS Vote" to view the ballot and to place your vote. All staff are allowed to vote one time. If you click the link again after voting you will be taken to a page that tells you the time and date your vote was cast.
If you would like to cast your vote in person you may do so at one of the following times/locations. Please bring your myWSU login information with you.

Wichita State University classified employees will be asked to cast their vote April 30 – May 2, 2014 either YES or NO whether to move classified positions to University Support Staff (USS). Per Kansas law (K.S.A. 76-715a) this notice is being given at least 90 days prior to the vote. The choice to recommend remaining classified or moving to USS will be made by the majority of votes received from classified employees. If the vote is to move to USS, the final determination will be made by the Kansas Board of Regents.
The ballot will ask:
Do you want Wichita State University classified positions to convert to University Support Staff as allowed by Kansas Statute Annotated 76-715a?
Yes, I want Wichita State University classified positions to convert to University Support Staff, OR
No, I want Wichita State University classified positions to remain in the State Civil Service.
Voting will be administered through the Office of Planning and Analysis. Classified employees may vote from 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 30 to noon Friday, May 2. If you require an accommodation because of a disability, please contact Human Resources at 978-3065 for assistance by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 28.
The Alternative Service Committee and university administration want to be sure you have the information you need to make an informed decision. During the next several months, you will continue to receive information from the Alternative Service Committee. There will also be another set of “town hall” meetings in April, where you will hear more about policy and procedure changes for USS. You will also be able to ask questions about what these changes might mean to your position. A final copy of the proposal will be made available prior to the vote.
