What are the official designated holidays for which employees will be paid during the Holiday Shutdown?
There are two officially designated holidays that are paid during the Holiday Shutdown which are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Both holidays occur on a Saturday this year so the observed paid holidays are Friday, December 24, 2021 and Friday, December 31, 2021.
An employee who is eligible for holiday pay must be in full pay status the entire workday before and the entire workday after the holiday to receive holiday pay. Pay status is defined as being paid either accrued leave or regular earnings for the employee’s typical workday.
