Amy McClintock has served as an Administrative Specialist, Academic Program Specialist and Grant Coordinator in the School of Nursing for over 25 years. She has strengthened programs, supported countless students, and enriched the entire campus community.
Amy has served as the bridge between faculty, students, and administration ensuring that graduate nursing students receive the guidance, structure, and support they need to thrive. Her ability to coordinate complex admissions processes, track academic progress, and maintain high-quality data reporting has been invaluable to the program’s success.
Beyond her professional duties, Amy’s leadership extends across campus. She currently serves as Chair of the Parking Appeals Committee and as a member of the Voting Committee and Staff Senate. Her contributions were recognized with the President’s Distinguished Service Award (2018) and the College of Health Professions Outstanding Classified Staff Award (2014).
Amy’s academic achievements further reflect her lifelong commitment to learning. She has a Bachelor’s (2016) and Master’s degree (2019) in Criminal Justice from Wichita State University. She is currently working on completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Wichita State University, where her dissertation, Unheard Voices of the Rural Student: Transition Experiences in the First Year of Postsecondary Education exemplifies her passion for giving voice to underrepresented populations.
Known for her warmth, diligence, and collaborative spirit, Amy represents the very best of the Shocker community. Her 25 years of service are marked not only by her professional excellence but by the compassion and care she brings to every interaction.
I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award. Thank you Amy for all you do for the School of Nursing and Wichita State University.
