Impossible to put into words the appreciation that I have for my coach and friend, Steve Rainbolt. His coaching style, mentorship, and genuine heart is second to none. He has always went above and beyond for every athlete, and is always pushing us to be our best on and off the track.
He continually serves all of his athletes with his dedication by not only pouring all his time but also his whole heart into helping each athlete reach their full potential. He is the coach that sees potential where we see limits and inspires us to believe it too.
What impacted me the most when it came to Coach Rainbolt though was how he cares so much more about his athletes on a personal level than he does about any performance on the track. He's been through the highs and lows, teaching me lessons that went far beyond running hurdles. Somewhere along the way he became more like a dad then a coach and also one of my best friends.
I'll always be grateful for his belief in me, his friendship, the never-ending support, and the influence he has had on my life. This very deserving honor is just a small reflection of the many ways he has impacted me and countless other track and field athletes.
