TRIO Student Support Services offer students opportunities to build positive relationships while learning important life skills in an office environment. When available, Wichita State University students can apply for employment and be a part of our diverse and student-friendly team. We have several student positions available throughout the year: Student Assistant (office), Lab Assistant or Tutor. TRIO SSS program participants are encouraged to apply for these positions.

Tutors are trained and certified to provide peer tutoring to SSS students in courses that they have received at least a grade of B or better.

Responsibilities include attending all Peer Mentoring training sessions at the beginning of each semester. Providing weekly mentoring to students assigned to you based upon the training you’ve been given. Assisting in the development of positive study habits, study skills, and life skills of mentored students. Providing regular feedback to the SSS Project Director and Academic Advisors on your student’s mentoring progress
