The Career Development Center is pleased to introduce Margarita Baez as our new College of Applied Studies and College of Health Professions Career Specialist.

Margarita began her undergrad journey as a student-athlete playing volleyball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and later played at Jacksonville State University. She completed her degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, majoring in communication. After years in roles where she was helping others, she went back to school and obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University.

The past two years, Margarita has been working at a community mental health agency in northwest Arkansas helping kids, adolescents, and their family through various difficulties in life.

While working as a school-based counselor, she continued to pursue her interest in career development and became certified as a career service provider through the National Career Development Association (NCDA).

Margarita is a native of Puerto Rico and has lived in numerous states, of which include Nevada, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas and now Kansas!

Margarita is the primary contact for all Applied Studies and Health Professions students seeking co-ops, internships and post-degree employment. She can help by reviewing resumes, conducting mock interviews, offering job search techniques, career readiness skills and more.
