The following checklist will outline your transition process. The earlier you complete these steps, the better chance you have in getting classes and resources to meet your needs.
STEP 1: Set up your myWSU password
In order to sign up for orientation, enroll in classes, and access your WSU email account, you will need to set up your password for your myWSU student account. Go to wichita.edu/newstudent for information and directions.
STEP 2: Submit your housing forms
Detailed information regarding housing requirements and options can be found online at wichita.edu/housing. In some cases, submitting housing information (including exemption forms) is required in order to proceed to Orientation and enrollment.
STEP 3: Sign up to attend Spring Orientation
Attending orientation is required in order to confirm your enrollment and your place in the incoming class. Before you can sign up for orientation, you must set up your myWSU password.
STEP 4: Enroll with your academic advisor
As a new student, you will enroll with the help of an academic advisor your first semester. When you call to schedule your appointment, let the staff know you are a new student and need to schedule a “Shocker Connection” advising appointment. You will meet one-on-one with an advisor in the college which houses your intended major. If you are unsure where you major is housed, consult this list of majors. Find your advising contact information at here.
STEP 5: Attend Orientation
In order to confirm your enrollment and save your place in the incoming class, you are required to attend the orientation program you signed up for in Step 2.
STEP 6: Send in updated transcripts
Make sure all of your most recent transcripts from each institution have been sent to WSU and have been posted to your student records. If you are unsure if all of your transcripts have been received, contact the Office of Admissions.
Living on campus is not required if you are transferring more than 30 college credit hours to WSU. If you would like to live on campus, or have below 30 credits earned, you can find the housing contract at wichita.edu/housing.
After completing all five steps, you will be an official member of Shocker Nation!
