What degree will you be earning in May?
Bachelor's in aerospace engineering
What is your hometown?
Aurora, Nebraska
What schools did you attend before coming to Wichita State?
Aurora High School
What made you choose Wichita State University?
The focus on hands-on learning and the opportunity to work on real projects as an undergrad student were extremely appealing. The chance to do all of this while competing as a member of the track and field team sealed the deal for me.
How did scholarships benefit you during your time at Wichita State?
I am grateful to have received both the Gore and Wallace Scholarships. These scholarships have not only provided me with the financial freedom to maximize my four years of study but also some incredible communities that have supported me in my time at Wichita State University.
What applied learning experiences did you participate in during your time here?
I work for the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at the Walter H. Beech Wind Tunnel. Here I have the opportunity to practice what I'm learning in my classes and apply theory in the real world. The student focus and flexibility of NIAR also gives me the ability to continue my studies and track career while holding a job.
What advice would you give other Wichita State students?
Get involved in a minimum of one or two organizations. This could be clubs, work, research or athletics but make it something that is continually pushing you outside of comfort zone.
What are your plans after graduation?
I'll be starting in June at Textron Aviation on their aerodynamics team. This means I'll be staying in Wichita and continuing to be around campus as much as possible.
Fun question: You suddenly find yourself in the middle circle of a dance battle. What's the first move you gonna hit 'em with?
I like to dance but I don't dance well so I would probably do my best robot.
