Wichita State University to host analytics showcase

Wichita State University is hosting the first Analytics Showcase from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. The showcase aims to deepen the understanding of research advances, curricular programs, top software, hardware and skill-building.

The event will create a venue for campus researchers, community representatives and industry experts in Wichita to build professional networks, discuss analytics and develop collaborations. Students, faculty, staff and community members are able to attend the event for free.

During the event, nine WSU researchers and six local practitioners are set to present. Deans from the Barton School of Business, Engineering, Health Professions, Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Applied Studies will also have a panel discussion over analytic focused curriculum. There will also be a series of hardware training sessions on popular products.

The keynote speaker will feature Rosemary Radich, the principal data scientist for the American Veterinary Medical Association. In her role, she leads data strategy and delivers data insights to the veterinary profession.
