All-clear issued for bomb threat at Wichita State

Wichita State University Police issued an all-clear at approximately 5:40 p.m. today, Oct. 30, 2026, regarding a bomb threat on the WSU campus.

At around 3 p.m. the WSU Police received a phone call threatening that a bomb was located on WSU’s campus at or near the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research (HAMR), at 1907 Innovation Blvd. The WSU campus community was alerted of the reported threat through the RAVE Shocker Alert System. All individuals were required to evacuate the building. University Police completed a visual search of the premises, and no devices were found.

The building has been cleared for normal operations by University Police. We appreciate the cooperation of the campus community and the quick response and assistance of law enforcement. At this time, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.

As operations return to normal, now is a good reminder that false threats like these are a crime and tax the time and resources of many people, including our first responders.

The safety and security of our campus community are of the utmost priority. Though there is no threat to campus, diligence is always important. Remember, if you see something, say something by calling 316-978-3450 or 911.
