May 22, 2018 — By WSU News Services — Wichita State University's Center for Economic Development and Business Research has released its Kansas City Employment Forecast.
In 2018, Kansas City total nonfarm employment is projected to increase by 16,500 jobs, growing 1.3 percent.
The service sectors are forecast to grow 1.7 percent, adding over 9,000 jobs, as the fastest growing portion of the Kansas City economy. Production sector
