Panel to discuss women's and gender issues in higher education

The Tilford Commission and the Office for Faculty Development and Student Success invite faculty and teaching staff to a panel discussion on women's and gender issues in higher education from 12:30-1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in 218 McKinley Hall.

Among the questions to be discussed are these: Is WSU a campus that is attentive to the concerns of women? How could it become more so?

What particular challenges do you face as a female faculty member, and how have you met those challenges (if you have)?

Does your gender influence your teaching, your research and your service work, if at all?

How does being a woman influence your progress toward tenure and/or promotion? How do you balance your work life and your personal life? What challenges do you face in your efforts to do so?

After the panel presentation the floor will be open for audience comments and questions. If you plan to attend please RSVP to ofdss@wichita.edu or 978-3209.
