* Probationary faculty members are welcome to attend the Pre-Tenure Club Meeting from 12:30-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 24) in 116 Neff Hall. The informal group provides information, support, advice and fellowship to faculty members navigating the path to tenure.
* The Fall 2012 Physics Seminar Series continues with a presentation by Stephen Gourlay with Berkley National Lab, at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 24) in 128 Jabara Hall. The presentation is titled "Advanced Accelerator Research: Laser Plasma Accelerators, Free Electron Lasers and Inertial Fusion Using Ion Beams."

* WSU basketball fans will get their first look at the 2012-13 Shocker men's and women's basketball teams at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in Charles Koch Arena at Shocker Madness, which will feature live scrimmages, autograph sessions, a dunk contest, dance team performance and the 2012 NCAA/Missouri Valley Conference ring presentation.
