* "Mindfulness in the midst of university life" is the Words for Wellness topic from noon-12:30 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 5) in 206 Heskett Center. Mindfulness gives you the opportunity to slow down and reflect, providing stress relief and mental clarity. Come receive some great tips from Jessica Provines while enjoying some light refreshments.

* The public is invited to take part in a community town hall meeting, part of an ongoing opportunity to be a part of WSU's Strategic Planning process, from 5:30-7 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 5) at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center, 7001 W. 21st St. N. (corner of 21st St. N. and Ridge Road) in Wichita.

* The Office for Faculty Development and Student Success will hold a Textbook Reading Study Skills Workshop from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in 105 McKinley Hall. This workshop will teach students how to master the secrets to textbook reading and increase their understanding of course material. * The Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series in Chemistry will feature a public lecture by Rong Li, an investigator for the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and a professor in the department of molecular and integrative physiology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in 224 McKinley Hall. The lecture is titled "A numbers game: How cells find creative solutions quickly to adapt to big stress."
