Buzz-worthy art talk with Hank Willis Thomas

You're invited to a buzz-worthy art talk with Hank Willis Thomas, "What Goes Without Saying," at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in 210 McKnight Art Center West. Employing the language of advertising and popular culture in his work, Thomas communicates frankly about race, class and history. A nationally renowned artist, his work activates African American history to provide relevance to, and commentary on, today's experience. Admission is free. The event is in conjunction with the photography exhibition "The Hard Kind of Courage: Gordon Parks and the Photographers of the Civil Rights Era," on view through Dec. 16 at the Ulrich Museum.
