* The Office of Human Resources will be closed from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 7) for a staff retreat, and accounts receivable, cashiers and collections in 201 Jardine Hall will open at 1 p.m. The Office of the Registrar will open at 12:15 p.m.
* Madhulika Srikanth, a doctoral student in mechanical engineering, will be introduced as the third recipient of the Maha "Maggie" Sawan Fellowship for Graduate Students at 1 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 7) at the Garvey International Center, 17th Street and Hillside. This award was established by Edwin Sawan, professor emeritus in electrical engineering and computer science, to honor the memory of his late wife, Maha "Maggie" Sawan.
* WSU Shift Space Gallery will host "Effigy: Slow and Curious," a sculptural music event

* Students in Engineering 101 and EECS Senior Design first and second semester students will display their final projects from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd. Come play with all sorts of electronic and mechanical contraptions including a Rube Goldberg-style laser water show, new twists on Old Skool video games and a dancing dollhouse Christmas. You can get in to see the projects for free by saying "I am a friend of WSU College of Engineering."
* Child Start is collecting new winter hats and mittens for 1,270 infants, toddlers and preschoolers in need. The Hugo Wall Public Administration Society has a box for you to drop new hats and mittens in the break room at 215 Lindquist Hall. The deadline to donate is Tuesday, Dec. 11, so hurry. Questions?
