WSU Foundation Core Values Scholarship awarded

The WSU Foundation Core Values Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who submits the most compelling essay describing how he/she exemplifies the WSU Foundation Core Values of integrity, relationships, teamwork and service. This year's scholarship has been awarded to Kate Freeman, a junior majoring in elementary education.

Freeman has served as ambassador and co-secretary for the Office of Multicultural Affairs and is gaining work experience in her major through a Cooperative Education and Work-Based Learning placement as a para educator at Cloud Elementary.

Freeman was introduced to WSU Foundation staff earlier in the fall at a monthly staff meeting and will attend various Foundation functions. She also was one of the Shockers featured on its 2012 holiday card. We congratulate her and look forward to her participation with the Foundation family.

The WSU Foundation would like to thank everyone who applied for the Core Values Scholarship. In just a few short months, it will be time to select a new recipient for the 2013-2014 academic year. Visit the WSU Foundation website to apply. The deadline will be announced soon.
