President Bardo addresses state budget concerns

"I know that many of you have been concerned about recent news articles discussing a potential 8 percent cut in the state budget," said President Bardo.

"After Gov. Brownback's state-of-the-state address yesterday (Tuesday, Jan. 15) evening, Wichita State University will plan for FY 2014 budgets under the assumption that there will be no cuts for higher education. I believe that Gov. Brownback's address recognizes the importance of higher education for the future of Kansas, and his statement provides a solid foundation for us as the 2013 legislative session begins. We look forward to working with legislators and the governor's office as these important decisions regarding our state are discussed and debated in Topeka."
