* Nominations are sought for WSU's 2013 Senior Honor Men and Women awards. Up to five men and five women are chosen for this honor each year.

* Registration for spring classes for current and newly admitted students can be done online at http://www.wichita.edu, then log into myWSU. If you prefer, you can register in person from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the Office of the Registrar in Jardine Hall or call 978-3090. Most spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 22.
* The WSU baseball program will host its annual First Pitch Banquet on Monday, Jan. 28, in the Preferred Health Systems Multipurpose Center at Charles Koch Arena. Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost will be the featured speaker. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will start at 7 p.m.

* WSU was nominated for "Best Road Trip Destination in College Basketball" presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Voting for the 10 finalists has opened with the winner to be completely fan-determined through Facebook voting at facebook.com/bestofcollegebasketball. Fans can vote once per day until Friday, Jan. 25.

* A grant from the WSU College of Education allowed professor Gayla Lohfink to conduct a community-based research project at McLean Science and Technology Magnet Elementary School that provided multicultural literature and picture books for the English language learner students at the school.
