* The 5th Annual Martin Luther King Unity Walk will depart from the Heskett Center at 5 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 24). The walk is aimed at remembering and continuing King's legacy. The candlelight procession will begin outside of the Heskett Center and conclude at the Plaza of Heroines. Contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs for more information at 978-3034.

* A celebration of life service for John Gries, associate professor of geology, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in 101 Geology Building. He is survived by his wife and geology lecturer Toni Jackman. A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 24) at Downing and Lahey, 6555 E. Central. Memorials have been established at Great Plains Transportation Museum and the Wichita State University Foundation.

* The WSU baseball program will host its annual First Pitch Banquet on Monday, Jan. 28, in the Preferred Health Systems Multipurpose Center at Charles Koch Arena. Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost will be the featured speaker. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will start at 7 p.m.
