* Peggy Anderson, retired associate professor, College of Education, died Sunday, Feb. 24, in Wichita from multiple complications of a long illness. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 28) at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 7404 Killarney in Wichita.

* "Designing Research Assignments that Promote Critical Thinking" will be offered from 2-3 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 28).
Probationary faculty are invited to an upcoming Pre-Tenure Club meeting from 1-2 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 28) in 117 Neff Hall, and 3-4 p.m. Friday, March 1, in 116 Neff Hall.

* The History Department and Ulrich Museum of Art will feature a lecture by Tracey Deutsch, associate professor of history at the University of Minnesota, in the history department's lecture series at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 28) in 210 McKnight. Admission is free. The lecture is titled "Making Change at the Grocery Story: The Politics of Provisioning in the 20th Century."
* Student Perception of Teaching Effectiveness (SPTE) request forms have been mailed to your department. Check with your department's office assistant if you did not receive one.
Go to http://www.webs.wichita.edu\sslab to download a form and get additional SPTE information. The due date to return the request forms to the Social Science Research Lab is Wednesday, March 6.

* Faculty and staff who need to acquire regalia for spring commencement should contact Julie at 978-7021, or Tanya at 978-7031 at the University Bookstore between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. If you plan on purchasing, your order needs to be placed by Friday, March 8. If you are renting, you have until Friday, March 29.
