McNair Scholars Program accepting recommendations

The McNair Scholars Program is now accepting recommendations of outstanding undergraduate students to apply for the McNair Scholars Program
for the 2013-2014 academic year. The program serves low-income and first-generation college students and prepares them for the transition into graduate school, to eventually obtain a doctorate. In particular, the program targets students who are traditionally
underrepresented in graduate education, including African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and American Indian/Alaskan Native.

These students need to have completed at least 40 credit hours and attending WSU on a full-time basis. They also need a minimum GPA of 2.75; or 3.00 in the last 60 credit hours and a low income and first generation college student; or from a group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education.

We do not want to overlook any students who may be eligible for program participation, so please help us identify qualified students.

Applications may be retrieved from the McNair office at 173B Grace Wilkie Annex and applications will be accepted through Friday, April 19.
