* iPad, Surface, Transformer, Nexus, Kindle -- there are many options for mobile tablet devices today. If you're in the market and would like to gain a better understanding of the key differences between these consumer mobile devices and which one fits your needs, come to the development session at the Media Resources Center at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 13).

* The next speaker in the Spring 2013 Chemistry Colloquium series is professor David Eichhorn of Wichita State at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 13) in 224 McKinley Hall.

* WSU Libraries is offering a workshop Surviving Group Projects: Online Collaboration Tools from 4-5 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 13); 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 26; and 2-3 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the Ablah Library Learning Center.

* In Academe news, Ed Flentje talked about elections, Ashlie Jack will look at state handwriting standards, and Aleksander Sternfeld-Dunn had two compositions premiered at Carnegie Hall. * Join the WSU Jazz Arts Ensemble and the Wichita Swing Dance Society for an instructional evening of dance at 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 13) in C107 Duerksen Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.

* On Thursday, March 14, the parking lot behind Wilner Auditorium will be reserved for an event for the President's Office. The parking lot will be unavailable throughout the day. Parking lot reservations are specifically authorized by WSU Polices and Procedures Manual 18.05 Reservation of University Parking Lots.

* The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking for students to become 2013-2014 orientation leaders. Candidates must possess strong academic, interpersonal and leadership skills and a passion for Wichita State. * SAC is in need of judges for 2013 Hippodrome. One set of judges is needed for performances at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, and Thursday, April 11, in the CAC Theater, and another set of judges is needed at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the CAC Theater.
