Freshman Orientation Faculty Fellows needed
To apply, send a letter of application explaining why you are interested and what you will bring to the position, and a current c.v. to ofdss@wichita.edu. The deadline is April 5.
Orientation Faculty Fellows will be heavily involved in each of the day 1 programs, helping to integrate new freshmen into the WSU community, inspiring students to meet college level expectations and teaching them how to do so, and speaking with parents of new students.
Faculty Fellows work closely with undergraduate orientation leaders and other staff to promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere that helps new students feel comfortable, connect to each other and the campus, and learn what they need to know in order to get off to a good start at WSU.
The time commitment is about four hours on each "day one" of the 10 two-day orientations that will be held between April 21 and the start of classes on Aug. 19, plus training and occasional meetings during the summer. If you are unable to attend one or two of the orientation dates, that will not exclude you from consideration.
Freshman orientations for students who will begin at WSU in fall 2013 will be held on the following dates:
