Need volunteer or community service hours?

The Fairmount Center for Science and Mathematics Education invites you to help with the 26th Annual State Science Olympiad on the WSU campus, Saturday, April 6. The Kansas Science Olympiad is a statewide competition that helps make science fun.

At the state tournament, more than 1,000 middle and high school students will demonstrate their knowledge, ability and skills in all areas of science. Events students will participate in include:
- Designing and building the lightest bridge capable of supporting a given mass.
- Designing, constructing and flying a rubber-band powered airplane that remains aloft for as long as possible.
- Solving a CSI using chemistry lab techniques.
